Rekha Sindhu, popular Kannada TV actress, dies after her car overturns on Chennai-Bengaluru highway

In an unfortunate incident, Rekha Sindhu, popular Kannada TV actress, died in a road accident on Friday. The vehicle in which the 22-year-old actress was travelling in smashed into the centre median on the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway 48 near Natrampallai on Friday.

Rekha Sindhu was daughter of Paulraj and resident of Bengaluru. Her friend Rahini was also travelling in the car, while Jayakumar was behind the wheels. Sindhu was seen in an ad film (Ad film on Chennai Amirtha Institute), said the Natrampalli Police.

Police said that the car hit the median after Jayakumar fell asleep. Sindhu was sitting in the front seat of the car and she died on the spot.

Jayakumar and Rahini sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Vellore. The police has sent the body of Sindhu to the GH for post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigations are on in the incident.
