The grand finale of Rising Star season 2 on Colors proved to be a blockbuster affair with exciting performances from judges and contestants. Hemant Brijwasi took home the winner’s trophy by garnering 83 per cent votes from the audience in live voting.
The talented singer from Mathura, who never remained in danger zone throughout the season, also won a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh. Â The 20-year-old mesmerised the audience with the hit song Alvida from Life In A Metro.
Hemant took the stage on fire whenever he performed on the stage of Rising Star season 2. The three judges Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur and Diljit Dosanjh praised the singer for his power-packed performances.
Interestingly, Hemant Brijwasi has already sung a song for the upcoming film Soorma, which is based on the life of former India hockey captain Sandeep Singh. Shankar Mahadevan gave Hemant, Shehnaz and Sahil the golden opportunity

After a tough battle of thirteen weeks, four contestants made it to the grand finale of the popular reality show.
Hemant, Vishnumaya, Rohanpreet and Zaid Ali became the top four finalists of the son. The four singers gave soul-stirring performances on Sunday, taking the battle to a new level.
Zaid Ali, the youngest contestant of the season, was eliminated from the first round.
Rohanpreet impressed everyone with his performance on Khuda Jane Kyu and scored 78 per cent votes in the second round. Vishumaya, who was fondly called junior Chithra, sang Silsila from the film Devdas.
Both the singers scored 78 per cent votes from the audience in the nail-biting second round. However, Rohanpreet edged out his competitor from Kerala with a whisker, setting up a target of 78 per cent for Hemant Brijwasi.
Hemant, who had previously won Sa Re Ga Ma Lil Champs, managed to achieve the given target, thus becoming the winner of the second season of Rising Star.

Rising Star 2 was one of the most loved shows on the small screen, all thanks to the amazing and talented contestants. The show which was hosted by Ravi Dubey managed to garner successful viewership.
