Kolkata's viral singer Ranu Mondal who earned much stardom recently after landing her first Bollywood break with Himesh Reshammiya has now recorded a duet number with one of the most popular playback singers of the 90s, Udit Narayan for music director's upcoming movie, Happy Hardy and Heer.
According to a post shared by Himesh on Instagram, the musician turned actors has roped in Udit Narayan for a romantic track with Keh Rahi Hai Nazdeekiyaan with his favourite Ranu.
Sharing the recording of the song, Himesh writes, "I should collaborate with the most talented, unique and unconventional talents of the industry. Legendary, Divine and Majestic - featuring Udit Narayan, Ranu Mondal, Paayal Dev and Himesh Reshammiya. Expect the unexpected on this most auspicious day for the Indian Music Industry, Our Dearest Lata Ji’s Birthday. Lots of Love and Thanks again for all your support."

Ranu paved her way to fortune from railway platform to Bollywood by crooning Lata Mageshkar's evergreen numbers. She attracted the attention of Himesh after appearing at a reality show and recorded songs for his upcoming movie.
Earlier Himesh has praised Ranu's voice in several instances. "Ranu ji has started her own beautiful journey and I feel that people misunderstood Lata ji's statement. I feel she told Ranu ji that it's good to get inspired but you shouldn't copy anyone's voice and I don't feel that Ranu ji has copied anyone's voice." said the music director when she lata Mangeshkar pointed out that imitation' might get her fame for a while but that is not going to last forever.
Meanwhile, award-winning Bengali actress Sudipta Chakraborty has been approached to play the lead role of Ranu Mondal in her upcoming biopic that will be helmed by director Hrishikesh Mukjerjee.
Confirming that the biopic on Ranu is at the pipeline, Sudipta, informed that she has been offered the film but is yet to decide if she wants to play the character.
