After Bombay Velvet and Lust Stories, filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap come together once again, this time for trying their luck on horror genre. Titled 'Ghost Stories', the directors are finalizing their plotline and cast for giving cinephile a spine chlliling experience on the OTT platform, Netflix.

A source close to the development recently told Pinkvilla "The script is ready and she will soon be filming her short. It is a quirky but really scary story and this will be her first stint with the horror genre. But everyone who has heard the story has loved it."

Interestingly, she has also finalized the lead for her anthology and no one othern than Janhvi Kapoor has bagged the role. "Janhvi Kapoor is the one who will essay the main protagonist in Zoya's short. Zoya and Janhvi met and the actress was bowled over by the script. It didn't take too much of convincing and Ghost Stories will mark Janhvi's debut into the digital world as well. She has also alloted her dates for the same and since it's a 30-minute short, it will be wrapped up in about ten days of shoot." revealed the source

Janhvi who is already shooting for yet another project in the horror genre in Rajkummar Rao starrer RoohiAfza will make hence make her digital debut with Zoya Akhtar.

This won't be Janhvi's first project in the space. She also has RoohiAfza with Rajkummar Rao that's also a horror comedy. Janhvi will also be seen essaying the role of IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena in her biopic followed by Dostana 2 alongisde Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht.

The anthology will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Ashi Dua. “With Netflix we have a partner who complements the strain in RSVP’s DNA – to lean into risk when it comes to bold content narratives and creative freedom. Just as ‘Lust Stories’ resonated around the world, we are aiming for ‘Ghost Stories’ and many more stories and sequels from India to connect with audiences in Asia and around the world,” Screwvala earlier said.
