Sushant Singh Rajput has been on roll lately. The actor, who is busy with his upcoming sci-fi movie Chanda Mama Door Ke, has now been roped to play the lead in the Bollywood remake of Hollywood romantic saga The Fault In Our Stars.
The movie revolves around the life of a young girl who happens to be a cancer patient, ends up meeting a boy from support group and falls in love with him
According to the media reports Sushant will play the role of Gus, a cancer survivor who falls for the terminally-ill Hazel. These characters were originally played by Ensel Algort and Shailene Woodley respectively.
The film also marks the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Confirming the news, Chhabra said he is currently working on the script of the movie and the team is on the look-out for its female lead.
"Yes, I am onboard for 'The Fault in Our Stars' remake.
I'm working on the script at the moment. Sushant is the leading man and we are still in the process of casting the heroine," he said in a statement.
The remake will be produced by Fox Star Studios and will begin shooting in the first half of next year.
Based on John Green's novel, the original movie was directed by Josh Boone.
