CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Board Exam 2020 passing marks have not been revised. Earlier, CBSE Released an official notification dated November 8, 2019 regarding the List of Subjects having Practical/Project/Internal Assessment Components for Class X and Class XII, 2020 Examination. In the official circular, CBSE confirmed the passing criteria for Class X and Class XII Theory and Practical exams.
However, the official notification was misinterpreted as many reports were stating that the CBSE Board Exam 2020 passing marks for Class 10 and Class 12 exam have been revised. The confusion was between the aggregate passing marks between the theory and practical exams.
Now, let’s get it clear.
CBSE Board Exam 2020: Actual Passing Criteria
It is clearly mentioned in the CBSE Official Circular that the Passing Criteria for CBSE Class 12 2020 involving Project/Practical work is 33% in Theory and 33% in Practical/Project/Internal Assessment. In addition, candidates need to score 33% in aggregate in each subject.
The passing criteria for CBSE Class 10 Board exam 2020 is 33% percent marks in each subject, Both Theory and Practical/Internal Assessment Taken Together.

Original passing criteria for class 12 students (Not Revised): 33% in Theory and 33% in Practical/Project/Internal Assessment and 33% in aggregate in each subject
CBSE Board Exam 2020: Passing Marks NOT Revised
Now, the confusion started with the CBSE Class 10 passing marks as many reports misinterpreted the official circular of CBSE and stated that class 10 students will have to score 33% separately for theory and practical exams. However, that is not the case as class 10 students need to score 33% marks in each subject (Theory + Practical) taken together.
It is only for CBSE Class 12 exam 2020, students need to score 33% percent separately in theory and 33% marks in practical exam.
