New Delhi:

UPSC Civil Services Application Withdrawal Process has been started by the commission for the first time. Candidates who want to withdraw their UPSC Civil Services Prelims Applications and don’t want to appear for the exam can visit the official website of Union Public Service Commission and cancel their applications accordingly. Alternatively, candidates can also click on the below mentioned direct link to withdraw their UPSC Civil Services Applications for Prelims Exam 2020.

According to reports, more than 10 lakh candidates apply for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam while a half of them appear for the appear for the Prelims Exam. Therefore, to ease the pressure on the commission’s resources this step has been taken, reports said. However, there is a big question mark on whether the causal IAS aspirants will withdraw their Civil Services Prelims Application or not.

Earlier, the commission has activated the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Withdrawal Application link, which will remain valid from March 12, 2020 to March 18, 2020. It’s during this time, candidates can withdraw their Civil Services prelims Exam Application if they wish to do so.

It is to note that the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam is going to be conducted on May 31, 2020. The Civil Services prelims Exam will have two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. The time duration of each paper is of 2 hours. The Prelims Paper 2 is of General Studies will be a qualifying paper wherein candidates need to score at-least 33 percent marks. Candidates who clear the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam will have to appear for the Main Exam and Personality Test.
