New Delhi:
A man posing as a former Pakistan cricketer repeatedly conned the BBC into paying him to appear on air as a pundit.
Nadeem Alam, 46, repeatedly posed as cricket star Nadeem Abbasi, who is also 46 year old. Shockingly, Nadeem appeared on BBC World News, BBC Asian Network and Radio Five Live.
He has never been associated with Pakistan and has only played cricket for his home town of Huddersfield.
Former Pakistan star batsman Mr Nadeem Abbasi expressed his outrage to the channel over imposter's antics.
Admitting the mistake BBC has apologised to the 'real Mr Abbasi' and launched an inquiry.
