The high flying New Zealand have reached the finals of the ICC World Cup for the first time. Favourable home advantage has helped the Black Caps, amid frantic atmospheres that peaked them during the semis against South Africa. Now, they have to face Australia in Melbourne in front of 90,000 fans. Some of their shortest boundaries in the world will be replaced by some of the longest in the historic MCG.    

The Black Caps haven’t lost a single match till now. Let’s have a look how Brendon McCullum and his boys proceed to finals:

  • Defeated Sri Lanka by 98 runs in the first match at Christchurch
  • Won by 3 wickets against spirited Scotland at Dunedin
  • Mauled England by 8 wickets at Wellington
  • Defeated Australia marginally by 1 wicket at Eden Park, Auckland
  • Crushed minnows Afghanistan by 6 wickets at Naiper
  • Defeated high flying Bangladesh by 3 wickets at Hamilton
  • Quarterfinals: Mauled West Indies by 143 runs at Wellington
  • Semifinals: Defeated mighty South Africans by 4 wickets at Auckland in an exciting tie
