New Delhi:

A special NIA court in Mumbai granted bail to two accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case on Tuesday.

NIA Court judge SD Tekale granted the bail to Sudhakar Chaturvedi and Sudhakar Dwivedi alias Shankaracharya, who are facing conspiracy charges in the case.

Chaturvedi and Dwivedi along with others are accused of attending conspiracy meetings, where the terror attack was planned.

Earlier, another two accused, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col Prasad Shrikant Purohit were also granted bail in the case.

Thankur was granted bail by the Bombay High Court while Col Purohit was given relief by the apex court in August.

Six people were killed and around 100 others injured in a motorcycle bomb blast in Malegaon town in Nashik district on September 29, 2008.

12 people including Thakur and Purohit were arrested in connection with the blast.

All the accused were booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), besides under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
