Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met BJP veteran LK Advani to wish him on his birthday. Advani turned 91 on Thursday. He was born on this day in 1927 in Karachi, now Pakistan. Earlier in the day, taking to micro blogging site Twitter Modi called BJP veterans contribution towards nation building monumental.

"Advani Ji's contribution towards India's development is monumental. His ministerial tenures are applauded for futuristic decision making and people-friendly policies. His wisdom is admired across the political spectrum," the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

“Selflessly and diligently, he built the @BJP4India and wonderfully mentored Karyakartas (workers),” the prime minister said in another tweet.

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddarmaiah while taking a did at PM Modi also greeted Advani. “Warm Birthday wishes to senior @BJP4India leader Shri. L K Advani ji. May you be blessed with healthy & happy life. Your guidance is required in protecting our democracy which is in grave danger, than in Marg-Darshak Mandal which do not respect your experience & seniority,” he tweeted.
