New Delhi:

The Censor Board on Wednesday stalled release of documentary 'Argumentative Indian' made on Amartya Sen and asked its director Suman Ghosh to mute words like 'cow', 'Gujarat' and ‘Hindutva' uttered by the Nobel Laureate.

Reacting to it, Ghosh said that he found CBFC's point of view bizarre that they wanted 4-5 words beeped and he told them that he will not do it but will follow up procedure.

"Will go through process, which is through court. Planning to take battle ahead if it goes to that," said Ghosh.

The planned release of the film titled 'The Argumentative Indian' for this weekend in Kolkata is now uncertain.

The move by the CBFC came in for sharp condemnation with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee voicing concern while Ghosh said he was shocked and taken aback.

"Every single voice of the opposition is being muzzled. Now, Dr Amartya Sen. If somebody of his stature cannot express himself freely, what hope does the common citizen have," she said in a tweet.
