The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday cancelled the voluntary retirement of Constable Tej Bahadur Yadav, whose video about the ‘poor quality’ food served to jawans went viral on social media recently.
Last year, the BSF had accepted Yadav’s application for VRS. He had posted a video in January which went viral on social media. The BSF and Home Ministry ordered an enquiry into the allegations after the video came to light.
According to reports, Yadav was to retire on January 31 but considering the enquiry pending against him, the BSF has cancelled his retirement.
The video showed Yadav claiming that the quality of food served to the jawans was not good.
"His voluntary retirement has been cancelled pending the court of inquiry and finalization of its recommendations. Cancellation of VRS was communicated to Tej Bahadur on January 30," a BSF official said.
