New Delhi:
Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday expressed his confidence in Aadhaar, saying the legislation will stand the test of constitutionality.
While speaking at Conclave on Financial Inclusion by United Nations in Delhi, Jaitley said the full potential of Aadhaar was not realized when it was brought in, but it was an evolving idea.
The finance minister said there is an emphasis in India particularly after Demonetisation to reduce the quantum of cash in society.
Backing the demonetisation move, he said the volume of cash has reduced, the tax base has increased and the economy has more formalised.

Jaitley said zero balance accounts under PM Jan Dhan Yojana have come down to 20 per cent from 77 per cent in last 3 years.
