Whatever Rahul Gandhi does or says, he ends up trending on Twitter. Soon after his speech in the Lok Sabha during the no-confidence motion debate on Friday, #BhookampAaGaya started trending on Twitter.
Several BJP leaders, including Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, took a swipe at the Congress president, saying a “strong earthquake hit the Parliament†after his speech.
The minister was referring to the Gandhi scion’s statement earlier this year that an earthquake will jolt the House if the ruling government allowed him to speak for the 15 minutes.
“After Rahul Gandhi’s speech on the no-confidence motion, a massive earthquake hit Parliament and the Congress president had to take shelter under the strongest pillar of India’s politics - Narendra Modi. It seems Congress’s earthquake also went to a ‘bar’ instead of ‘bahar’,†Pradhan tweeted.
The Congress leaders hailed Gandhi’s speech and claimed that his gesture to hug Modi was a “masterstroke†which took the prime minister and the BJP by surprise.
“BJP surprised by #BhookampAaGaya . This is just the beginning. #RahulHugsModi,†twitted Sanjay Jha. Another Congress leader Rachit Seth, sharing a short clip of Gandhi giving Modi an unexpected hug, said, “This 5 second video will haunt the BJP for posterity!â€
