BJP Leader Darshan Nagpal has been blamed for halting an ambulance when it hit his car, which caused the death of the patient. The patient was being taken to the hospital for treatment. The incident which took place in Haryana's Fatehabad,
It is being reported that Nagpal chased down the ambulance after it hit his car and took away the keys from the driver. The BJP leader is said to have an argument with the driver of the ambulance and the patients' family. He didn't allow the ambulance to move for about 30 minutes.
The 42-year old patient named Naveen Soni died because of delay in treatment as the ambulance couldn't reach the hospital on time.
Media reports suggest that the patient's family members have filed a complaint and a case has been registered against the BJP leader. Nagpal has denied the allegations and said that he did not halt the ambulance.
This is not the first incident where an ambulance was stopped due to a politician. An ambulance was caught in traffic when police in Bengaluru made way for Karnataka home minister's convoy in the month of May. This is not all, an ambulance was halted for few minutes in Delhi, near IG stadium for VIP movement. A child who was bleeding from his head and nose was being carried to the hospital.
