Blackbuck poaching case: Salman Khan records statement, pleads innocence before Jodhpur court

Salman Khan along with other Bollywood actors Tabu, Neelam, Saif Ali Khan and Sonali Bendre has appeared before the Jodhpur court on Friday to record their statement in a 1998 case linked to poaching of two blackbucks in Rajasthan.

Salam Khan pleaded innocence before Jodhpur court. During the court proceeding, Salman Khan was asked about 65 questions on blackbuck poaching case. 

It is worth to mention here that Rajasthan High Court in July last year had acquitted Salman Khan in the poaching case.

The matter came into police when in October same year, Bishnoi community lodged a complaint against Salman Khan and other.  After which, Salman Khan was arrested and released on bail in the next five days.

The actors were to appear before the court on January 25, however, their counsel pleaded the court to exempt them from appearing citing law and order situation, which the court allowed.

Police had expressed inability to provide inadequate security to the film stars in the court on account of the presence of the chief minister and the governor in the city for the state-level Republic Day celebrations.

In September 1998, five bollywood stars Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre, and Tabu were allegedly seen hunting two blackbucks while shooting for film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain".
