CCS approves Rs 25,060 Cr for police modernisation, says Rajnath

New Delhi:

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday informed that an umbrella scheme for police modernisation was approved by Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) with an investment of Rs 25,060 Cr for 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Rajnath said that an additional allocation of Rs 100 Cr has been provided for North East.

The Home Minister elaborated that internal security, law and order, women security, weapons procurement, hiring of helicopters will be covered under the scheme.

Giving the details, Rajnath said that additional allocation of Rs 100 Cr provided for North East for police infrastructure upgradation, training institutes, investigation facilities.
