Chhattisgarh cow deaths: BJP expels party leader Harish Verma

Bharatiya Janata Party has expelled its leader Harish Verma who was accused of death of 200 cows in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Verma was running a government –aided private gaushala in Rajpur.

The police already registered a case against Verma and a probe was initiated in the matter.

The Chhattisgarh Rajya Gau Sewa Aayog, which filed a complaint with the police, alleged that lack of proper facilities at the 'gaushala' were responsible for the deaths.

Verma had claimed that the cows died due to collapse of a boundary wall on August 15.
