Class 12 student dies while taking board exam in Hyderabad

New Delhi:

A 16-year-old student died while taking his board exam in Telangana’s Secunderabad on Saturday. According to reports, the student – identified as Gopi Raju – reportedly died due to cardiac arrest during class 12 board exam. The incident left fellow students and teachers in shock.

“Gopi collapsed at the examination centre at Sri Chaitanya College in Secunderabad. He breathed his last before he could be rushed to a hospital,” reported IANS.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and doctors declared him dead, police said.

Over 9.63 lakh students are appearing for Intermediate (Class 11, 12) Public Examinations across Telangana.

About the Telangana Boards

Telangana State has two separate Boards which conduct the Class 10 / SSC Exam and the Class 12 / Intermediate Examination. The Class 10 Board Exam for SSC Students is conducted by the TSBSE i.e. Telangana State Board of Secondary Education, while the BIE Telangana i.e. Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana is responsible for managing and conducting of Intermediate level Board Exam for 1st and 2nd Year Students.

The Telangana Board of Secondary Education and Telangana Board of Intermediate Education were established in the year 2014, after the formation of the state of Telangana from the territories of Andhra Pradesh. The State Board of Telangana or Telangana Board is divided into two sections.

TSBSE – Telangana State Board of Secondary Education

The Telangana Board of Secondary Education is a board of education for public and private schools under the state government of Telangana. The board controls and maintains all the necessary secondary education in the state of Telangana. Under this board, various courses are offered to students for different occupations and to prepare the students for university. The board conducts final examinations in every spring for the Higher Secondary Examination, High School Certificate Examinations and examinations of other courses prescribed by the board for Class 10.
