Delhi government to launch home delivery service for 40 public services

New Delhi:

The Delhi government is all set to provide 40 public services including driving license and caste certificates at the doorstep within stimulated time period at doorsteps.

The decision to launch the scheme was taken during Thursday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia.

Sisodia said, “The scheme is a home delivery of governance. The initiative is first of its kind in the country.”

To implement the scheme on ground the Delhi government will hire a private agency. “Mobile Sayak ) facilitators will be hired through the agency. The agency will set up call centres,” added Sisodia.

The deputy chief minister explaining the scheme said, “A  person who wants to apply for a driving licence, he or she will have to call a designated call centre and register their details. The Mobile Sahyak will visit the applicant’s residence get the required documents.”

He added that the Mobile Sahyak will be equipped with all necessary machines such as biometric devices and a camera. “The applicant would be charged nominal fee for the facility. We have yet not decided the fee,” added Sisodia.

According to the Delhi deputy chief minister people can avail various certificates like caste certificate, a new water connection, ration cards, domicila, marriage registration, duplicate RC and change of address in RC.
