Hundreds of Trinamool Congress workers staged a protest demonstration outside the Prime Minister's Offce in Delhi on Tuesday after the CBI arrested party MP Sudip Bandopadhyay for his alleged involvement in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.

The police detained several TMC workers who shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of indulging in a political vendetta after the party raised its voice against the demonetisation move.

The tussle between the Modi government and the TMC has escalated since the arrest of Bandopadhyay.

Earlier in the day, Union minister Babul Supriyo alleged that several workers of the ruling party attacked his house in Kolkata. Supriyo also tweeted a video in this regard.
