Dreaded Kashmiri terrorist and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind chief Zakir Musa has once again been spotted in Punjab. According to the latest intelligence reports, Musa was spotted wearing a turban. Following the reports, Bathinda and Ferozepur districts of the state were put on a high alert and security tightened around important places. The posters of Musa wearing a Sikh turban have been put up across the state and people have been advised to stay alert.

Musa studied in Punjab before joining the militancy. He had succeeded Burhan Wani as Hizbul Mujahideen commander following the earlier’s encounter by security forces in 2016. This was the second time Musa has been spotted in Punjab.

In November, a high alert had been sounded in the frontier districts of Gurdaspur and Amritsar following the tip-off about Musa’s presence.

Recently, Army Chief Bipin Rawat had warned that some Khalistani terrorists, who are believed to have joined hands with Kashmiri terrorists, were making attempts to revive insurgency in Punjab.

The Army chief had advised people to remain vigilant especially during the festive season. Recently, Pakistani terrorists had hurled a grenade at a religious congregation of Nirankari Satsang Bhawan in Amritsar.

The accused of the attack, Avtar Singh, was arrested by Punjab police. Punjab DGP Suresh Arora claimed that Singh was in contact with a person named Javed in Pakistan and a Khalistan supporter Paramjit Singh Baba in Italy.
