Durga Puja 2017: 24 hour control room and special food distribution in West Bengal

The West Bengal Administration Is On Its Way To St Up A 24 Hour Control Room On Tuesday At The State Secretariat.

The Control room: 

Durga Puja has arrived and so have the excitement around it. The large number of crowds that comes out on the roads to pay homage to Goddess Durga sometimes becomes unmanageable. 

The West Bengal administration is on its way to st up a 24 hour control room on Tuesday at the state secretariat.  The control room will be operative from Shashti i.e. September 26 till Lakshmi puja on October 5.

An officer of the level of joint secretary and an officer from the Disaster Management Department will be in charge of the control room.  
The official shared the contact number to be dialled in need - (033)22143526. The number is accessible by anyone and  at any time.

An incident reported will be attended on an immediate basis.
 

Food distribution:  

The West Bengal Food and Supplies Department is to come up with a special food distribution scheme during the festive season that comprises of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhat Puja. 

Beneficiaries who are already receiving special benefits will receive 1 litre mustard oil at Rs 91.50 per litre, 1 litre rice bran oil at Rs 79.50 per litre, 500 gram subsidised flour (maida) at Rs 22 per kg, 500 gram subsidised sugar at Rs 38.50 per kg. 

The distribution will take place from September 15-27 and from October 11 to 25
