New Delhi:
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, under treatment in AIIMS for kidney ailment, was discharged from the hospital on Monday after undergoing dialysis.
Jaitley, after the dialysis, was kept under observation for few hours before being discharged.
The minister, suffering from kidney ailment, was admitted to AIIMS on April 6 evening. He was kept under observation for two days before undergoing dialysis.
Doctors states that he may get better with dialysis and medicines. However, owing to the high risk of contracting infection, the minister would be kept in an isolated environment with restrictions on visitors.
Jaitley was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha, but he was unable to take oath of office. He has not been attending office since April 2.
The minister confirmed his illness in a tweet on April 5, and is under the observation of nephrologist Sandeep Guleria from Apollo Hospitals.
"I am being treated for kidney related problems & certain infections that I have contracted," he wrote on Twitter.
In September 2014, Jaitley had undergone a bariatric surgery to treat weight gain problem because of the chronic diabetic condition.
Jaitley is kept under observation and may undergo renal transplant soon, according to reports.
