Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday termed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids at his residence in connection with an alleged land scam case a “result of political vendetta.†Earlier in the day, the CBI had conducted raids at 30 location including Rohtak home of the former Haryana chief minister.
"This is a result of political vendetta. I will fight this battle myself. I have complete faith in the judiciary. No one can silence my voice," ANI quoted Hooda as saying.
Reacting to the CBI raids, the Congress party said that the action was takne as the prime minister was staring at an imminent defeat in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a press confernece, Congress leader Anand Sharma also warned CBI officials that it was certain the central government will change after the Lok Sabha polls and new govenrment will seek answers from them for any illigitimate action.
"Officials must hear this. Governments do not have any permanency. There are few weeks left for the general elections to begin. It is certain this govt is rattled, Prime Minister is staring at an imminent defeat, that’s why these actions," Sharma said.

Earlier on January 2, Hooda and senior Congress leader Motilal Vora were granted bail by a CBI court in a case pertaining to alleged illegal re-allotment of land to Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) in Panchkula in 2005.
Hooda and Vora were granted bail by CBI judge Jagdeep Singh on furnishing a bail bond of Rs five lakh each, their counsel Abhishek Rana said. The Congress leaders were handed over copies of chargesheet filed against them by the CBI. The next date for hearing in the case has been fixed for February 6, he said.
