New Delhi:

Ahead of elections in Gujarat, the state is currently witnessing a rise in political tension and caste-based division of the society. The entire politics is roaming around Patidars and both BJP and Congress are leaving no stones unturned to win the support of the agitating community.

However, the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel has openly declared his fight against the BJP rule and is in talks with Congress in order to extend his support in Gujarat assembly elections which are schelued to be held on December 9 and 14.

Hardik Patel is demanding reservation for his Patidar community and had openly said if Congress is ready to give assurance on this, he will openly through his weight behind the party.

But, Hardik’s ambitions seem to be hitting a hardball with some Patidar associations taking back their support from him. This has created a fear of divide in the community.

However, speaking to News Nation Hardik Patel claimed that people don’t even know these associations and the two major associations of Patidar community—Unjha and Khodaldham – are with him.

He reiterated that the demand of Patidar community is reservation and it will remain the same. He also said the Congress party is inclined towards him.

He said, if his meeting with Congress didn’t turn out to be a positive one, he will continue fighting against BJP and support Opposition party.
