At a time when the Haryana government was appealing the opposition not to politicise series of recent rape cases, a new incident of a shocking sexual assault of a woman by group of men in front of husband was reported with the police in Faridabad.
The latest case of sexual assault was reported in Haryana’s Faridabad village in Haryana where a housewife was gang raped by six persons at gunpoint in front of her husband.
The six accused forcibly entered the house of the rape survivor in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the complaint lodged, one of the persons brandished a gun and took the victim and her husband captive. He along with five others tied the married woman to the cot and raped her in turns.
The husband was brutally beaten by the six, when he tried to protect his wife.
The victim’s husband told the police that the six continued to rape her even after she fell unconscious due to the assault.
The Haryana Police claims to have arrested two persons in connection to the rape.
Earlier in the day, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar termed the incident as “unfortunate” and urged the opposition parties not politicise the recent rape incident.
He said, “We will take strict action against. We have transferred several police officials.”
In the last few days, a 15-year old Dalit girl from Kurukshetra was allegedly gangraped and brutally murdered. In another incident, a 11-year-old Dalit girl was gangraped and murdered in Panipat district. A three-year-old daugher of migrant labour was raped in Hisar by her teenage neighbour was reported with Hisar Police on Wednesday morning.
