Amid internal tussle over Karnataka Cabinet expansion, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday said that the Congress-JDS government in the state is working on the modalities of farm loan waiver and will announce it anytime soon.
Taking the matter to micro-blogging site Twitter, Kumaraswamy said, he and his government is looking forward to developing a scientifically-proven procedure, which will benefit the maximum number of farmers through the loan waiver scheme across India.
"Dear farmers, let there be no confusion on farm loan waiver. I am fully committed to the loan waiver. I want to ensure it is done scientifically benefitting maximum farmers. I am working on the modalities and will announce it shortly," the chief minister tweeted.

Kumaraswamy, who took oath as the Karnataka CM last month in Bengaluru, met representatives of several farmers' organisations in the state and discussed the major challenges faced by them.
"This government is not in the sleeping mode. We are at the work of Karnataka citizens," Kumaraswamy said after meeting with farmers' leaders.
Earlier, the chief minister has promised to farm community on waiver loans within 15 days of coming to power. Waiving farmers' loan was one of the main focus of the JDS's campaign ahead of the Karnataka Assembly Elections on May 12.
