In a horrific incident that exposes the primitive mindset of our society, a Hyderabad couple beheaded a three-month-old baby and performed puja while the keeping the head in their laps.

The heart-wrenching incident came to the fore on February 7 when an infant's severed head was found lying on the terrace of a house in Chilkanagar district.

According to the initial reports, the husband and wife had stolen the baby from Bhoiguda region for human sacrifice ritual during the lunar eclipse on January 31.

The couple was naked when they performed the Kshudra Pooja by keeping the severed head of the infant in their laps.

The police have arrested 8 people including the husband, a cab driver and his wife in connection with the beheading of the infant.

According to the police, three more women were involved in the crime. The couple threw the trunk of the infant baby into the Musi river.
