New Delhi:

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asks, “Where are the acche din promised by the PM?” Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli, the Congress chief said that the November 8 note ban was the biggest scam of the Modi government. He also attacked the Prime Minister for the reshuffle carried out at the CBI headquarters. Talking about the state governments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Gandhi said that his party fulfilled the loan waiver promise. “We had promised loan waivers and we implemented that, I don't lie, unlike Narendra Modi.”

He also promised six National Highways, railway line for Raebareli. “I want to promise you that food park which was halted by Modi ji, will be built in Amethi, 101%,” Gandhi said amid applauding audience.

However, there were reports about protests against Gandhi by some farmers in Amethi earlier today. Video clips showing farmers shouting ‘Rahul Gandhi go back’ were doing the rounds.

On a day when the Prime Minister-led selection committee is meeting today to finalize on the name of the next CBI chief, Gandhi attacked Narendra Modi and talked about the mess at the top probe agency. “When the CBI wanted to investigate Rafale deal, the Director was removed at 1:30 am. When the Supreme Court said no, it's wrong, and he be reinstated, the person (Alok Verma) is reinstated, but within 2 hours they get a note that there will be a meeting, that the CBI Director needs to be removed,” Gandhi said.

The rally comes a day after the Congress chief made major changes in the party's ranks on Wednesday. The reshuffle was done keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The highlight of the appointments was the formal entry of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the active politics. Mrs Vadra has been appointed as the General Secretary of UP East. Apart from her, Jyotiraditya Scindia was appointed as general secretary for UP West.

Gandhi expressed his happiness over his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s formal entry into politics. Talking to media in Amethi, Gandhi said that he was very happy with the news. “I am personally very happy that she will work with me now. She is extremely capable person,” a visibly happy Congress president said. On the impact of Mrs Vadra’s entry into politics, Gandhi said that “we can totally trust her. The Congress won’t work on backfoot now in Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka has mission UP with her.” On his political opponents, Gandhi said that “BJP wale ghabraaye hue hain (BJP is very scared).”
