External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is known for her prompt response on Twitter, on Thursday assured her full cooperation to an Indian man in Riyadh who threatened to commit suicide. Ali, who was seeking Indian Embassy in Riyadh’s help for getting back home for the last 12 months, had said that if the embassy can’t help him, he will have no other options left but to commit suicide.
His tweet was spotted by Sushma Swaraj, who assured him with her motherly words and sought a report from the Indian Embassy in Riyadh on the matter. "Khud kusi ki baat nahin sochte. Hum hain na. Hamari Embassy aapki poori madad karegi. @IndianEmbRiyadh - Pls send me a report on this," she tweeted. Later, the tweet threatening suicide was removed by the Twitter.

Earlier, in an another tweet, Swaraj thanked an Indian citizen in US for pointing out the process of "outdated mode of payment" for a document at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. One Twitter user, Kshitij tweeted, "@SushmaSwaraj Dear Madam @CGISFO has a requirement that attestation be paid thru Money order or Cashier’s Check, in this age of digitalization why are GoI ofc abroad insisting on outdated modes of payment? atleast accept card, in India you do, why nt in US (sic),†Kshitij tweeted from his handle @indianatheart13.
On this, Swaraj said that the issue will be examined by the her. The Union Minister is known for her proactive response to SOS messages on Twitter. She has helped thousands of Indians across the globe who were in distress and sought the government's help.
