New Delhi:
Indrani Mukerjea, the former INX media head, who was taken to Arthur Road jail on the charges of abducting and murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, was rushed to the JJ Hospital in South Mumbai's Byculla in late night on Friday.
"Indrani Mukerjea, accused in Sheena Bora murder case, admitted to JJ Hospital in #Mumbai," ANI reported.
According to reports, Indrani was brought to the emergency ward of the hospital in a 'drowsy state' last night.
Owing to her serious condition, she is currently undergoing a slew of medical tests including liver and kidney function tests, CT scan of brain and an ultra sound of abdomen. Doctors have also suggested an MRI scan for Mukerjea.
Though the tests reports are yet to be released, Mukerjea has already been shifted to the critical care unit of the hospital.

"We are still evaluating her. Currently, she has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from the emergency ward for observation. Her condition is stable," Times of India quoted Medical superintendent Dr Sanjay Surase.

Later on Saturday, Indrani Mukerjea's lawyer Gunjan Mangla reached Mumbai's JJ Hospital to see her condition. However, Hospital authorities did not allow Mangla to meet Indrani, stating that she needs to take permission from jail authorities first.

Earlier, in October 2015, she was admitted to the same hospital followed by an overdose of pills.

Apart from Indrani, her husband Peter Mukerjea is currently on trial in Arthur Road jail for the alleged murder of Sheena Bora.
Back in 2007, Indrani and Peter set up the INX media and sold their stakes in 2009 after being accused of theft.
