The Jammu and Kashmir police officials late night on Tuesday informed that militants snatched service rifles of five policemen who were guarding the court complex in Shopian district of Kashmir.
The officials further added that a group of militants sneaked into the premises of court complex in Shopian town late night on Tuesday and overpowered the five policemen on duty.
He said the militants snatched the SLR rifles of the policemen before leaving the place. It is said that no one was injured in the incident.

Last year, in a similar incident, suspected militants had decamped with two rifles from cops guarding a minority picket in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police had said.
Militants had snatched two SLR rifles from policemen guarding the minority picket in Tumlahaal village in Lassipora area of Pulwama, a police official had informed.
He had said police has taken cognisance of the incident and senior police officials have rushed to the spot.
