New Delhi:

Hamid Aziz, a 22-year-old athlete from Srinagar has completed ultra-marathon run of 110 km in 10 hours 45 minutes. Aziz has become the first person from the state to run for a distance of more than 100 km in a single day. 

“I was inspired by a 55-year-old Australian who participated in an ultra-marathon. I was supported by J&K Tourism Dept. I am now practicing to break the Indian record of a 180 km non-stop run. I also aim to break the world record of 303 km,” said Aziz. 

Aziz has already covered 60 kilometers in a single day with the Australian marathon runner Pat Farmer who concluded his Pan India great marathon in Srinagar on March 27, 2017.
