New Delhi:

The number of stone pelting incidents in Jammu and Kashmir have reduced to 664 in 2017 as compared to 2,808 in 2016, the Home Ministry said in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The ministry presented the data till July 9.

Apart from stone pelting incidents, violence acts by the terrorists have also come down to 172 in 2017 (till July 9) from 332 in 2016, the ministry further added.

Moreover, the ministry said that the number of civilians and security personnel who lost their lives in terrorist attacks till July 9, 2017 stand at 12 and 38, respectively. Talking about terrorists, 95 were gunned down by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
