New Delhi:
The security forces on Friday gunned down one terrorist after an encounter broke out between the two sides in the forests of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
"One terrorist killed in an encounter near Trehgam in Kupwara district, Operation over," the news agency ANI reported.
According to a police official, security forces launched a search operation in and around the Kupwara forest following an information about presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, terrorists hurled grenade at an Army patrolling party in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian's Ahgam leaving one Army personnel injured.
The area has been cordoned off and the Army has launched a combing operation in the area. Reports of firing have also been received from the village. However, there are no reports of any loss of life in the attack.
