Actor Kamal Haasan on Tuesday launched a mobile app #MaiamWhistle aimed to create a public platform and reach out of people. The app was also launched with an objective to provide public a platform to fight corruption.
“This mobile app will be more of a platform for public. Aim would be to reach out to people”, Haasan said.
The actor, who is also expected to launch a political party, said that he would be embarking on tour of Tamil Nadu soon.
"My dream is to create a good Tamil Nadu. It is important to strengthen the base, before launching the party. There is no need or no hurry to announce the name of the party," said Haasan.
Speaking on the controversy surrounding his statement on Hindu terror, Haasan said that he definitely didn’t want to hurt the sentiments of people as he also belonged to a Hindu family.
"I did not use the word terror, the word I used was 'extreme', like some of my fans who love me," said Haasan.
"Looking at the larger goal, longer time, so have to make the party ready for it. Working on structural part. The reason why they (people of Tamil Nadu) want a change is probably the reason why they will follow me," said Haasan on launching political party.
Earlier, Haasan, reviving up his political career, in his regular column in a Tamil weekly news magazine wrote that terrorism has spread to right-wing camps.
Hassan in his column published in Tamil Magazine Ananda Vikat wrote, “Earlier, the right-wing Hindu groups would not indulge in violence. They used to hold dialogues with opponents but now they resort to violence.”
Haasan further wrote, “The right-wing groups cannot deny Hindu terrorism in their camps as well.”
Haasan wrote about right-wing terrorism in response to the question — who asked the superstar about "Hindutva forces" — put up by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
