DMK president M Karunanidhi, who is undergoing medical treatment in Chennai's Kauvery hospital, has suffered a decline in his medical condition on Monday.
Releasing yet another fresh medical bulletin on Monday, the hospital stated, "There has been decline in the medical condition of Klaignar Dr M Karunanidhi, DMK president and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu".
"Maintaining his vital organ functions continues to remain a challenge considering his age related ailments," the bulletin added.
There are also reports that, the DMK patriarch is suffering from jaundice and is facing difficulty breathing, which is leading to a "fluctuation in his condition".
Following the report of his bad health, President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkiah Naidu and a number of political leaders, including Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, actor-politicians Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have paid visit to the hospital and enquired his well-being.
Earlier on Saturday, in a big relief for thousands of DMK workers, principal secretary Duraimurugan said that Karunanidhi, the 94-year-old ailing saltwart will be discharged from the hospital within “two to three days”.

Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K. Palaniswam also infromed about his well-being, saying that Karunanidhi is better now and recovering well with active medical support.
Later, Karunanidhi's health had taken a turn for the worse with the hospital continues to treat him under active medical support.
According to Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, the Executive Director of the Hospital, "Karunanidhi's response to the medical interventions over the next 24 hours will determine the prognosis.

Meanwhile, hundreads of DMK cadres on Monday thronged the Chennai hospital, leadin police to seploy more security personnel outside the premisses.
On July 28, Karunanidhi was admitted to the city hospital following a dip in his blood pressure which later stabilised but doctors said due to “decline” in his general health his stay would be extended.
