Delhi:

With unprecedented troop build-up and midnight crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir over the weekend, the action will now shift to Parliament today. There are reports that the BJP has issued a whip to its lawmakers to be present in the Houses for an ‘urgent business’. Rajya Sabha Chairperson has also issued a statement that the ‘Zero Hour’ will be delayed in the Upper House. According to the Parliamentary bulletin, ‘Due to some urgent legislative business, time for raising matters with permission (Zero Hour Submissions)’ has been delayed.’ It should also that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also address the both Houses at 11 am today.

Shah has already reached Parliament. Meanwhile, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi has given Adjournment Motion Notice in Lok Sabha over Kashmir issue. Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Binoy Viswam has also given notice in Rajya Sabha, under rule 267, for suspension of the business today, over Kashmir issue. There are reports coming in that the DMK is likely to oppose Modi government’s Kashmir move in Parliament. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha has also given notice in Rajya Sabha under rule 267, demand suspension of business today and discussion over Kashmir issue.

PDP MPs from Jammu and Kashmir also protested on the issue in Parliament complex.  Kashmir remained on the edge as authorities stepped up security at vital installations and in sensitive areas, suspended mobile Internet services and either "arrested" or "detained" several leaders in fast-paced developments on Sunday night.
