The cycle of political violence continues to grip Kerala's Kannur district as another RSS office-bearer, accused in the murder of a CPM worker, has been hacked to death on Friday. 

The state BJP leadership has accused CPM activists of the crime and has declared bandh for Saturday.

Thirty-something RSS worker, Biju, was the 12th accused in the murder of CPM worker Dhanaraj, who was hacked to death by a gang near his house on July 11, 2016.

The retaliation of Dhanaraj's murder was so swift that within hours an RSS worker CK Ramachandran was stabbed to death and crude bombs were hurled on site. 

The animosity between CPI-M and RSS has bene intensifying since past few months, resulting in the frequent deaths and attacks on the party workers. The violence reached a crescendo in March this year after an RSS functionary in Madhya Pradesh announced a Rs 1 crore bounty for beheading Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Kundan Chandrawat, ‘Sah Prachar Pramukh’ of RSS in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, announced the reward to avenge the killing of its workers in Kerala, allegedly by CPI-M workers.

“The Kerala Chief Minister is killing our RSS workers who want to take this country forward. I will pay Rs one crore to anyone who beheads him even if I have to sell my house,” Chandravat was seen saying in a video, which has gone viral.

The RSS, however, distanced itself from Chandravat’s remarks.
