New Delhi:

In a bid to woo the farmers ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed Kisan Kalyan Rally in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district.

During the rally, Modi could speak only for two-three minutes on the scheme of his government for the agriculture sector and spend most of his time in bashing Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his surprise hug during the no-trust vote debate in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

"Kal sansad mein hum unse poochte rahe ki batao to sahi ki ye avishwaas ka kaaran kya hai? Ab kaaran nahi bata paaye to gale padd gaye (Yesterday, we kept asking him about the reasons for bringing the no-confidence motion against the government. They could not tell the valid reason so started hugging)," Modi said addressing the farmers rally.

The prime minister played the victim card and said that his only "crime" was his "fight" against corruption.

"Have I done anything wrong. I am only working for the poor and the country...fighting corruption and this is my crime," he said.

This was Modi's fifth public rally in the state in less than three weeks. Earlier, he addressed people in Azamgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Mirzapur and Varanasi.
