Parliament live | Gaikwad's fly ban rocks Lok Sabha; Gau rakshak Alwar incident causes uproar in Rajya Sabha

Parliament session on Thursday is likely to start with the issue of fly ban on Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad. Shiv Sena is likely to submit an adjournment motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the matter. Party MP Gaikwad was banned by all airlines from flying after he beat up an Air India staffer. 

Speaking on the matter outside Parliament shortly after submitting the motion, Shiv Sena MP Anandrao Adul said, “Govt is not taking care of the matter, we will not keep quiet while we are in power.”

Parliament is scheduled to continue debate on the matter of GST Bills. The Congress is not inclined to move any amendments to the GST enabling bills in the Rajya Sabha before they are returned to the Lok Sabha but may support the amendments moved by other opposition parties.

The Congress party leaders are meeting on Thursday to decide on whether to support the amendments moved by other parties on GST bills.

During the meeting head on Wednesday evening, the top party leaders discussed various aspects of GST bills and came to the view that the party would not oppose those since the first GST bill proposed by then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee included the proposal for formation of the GST Council. Congress president Sonia Gandhi was also present in the meeting.
