New Delhi:

All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi is set to visit Kurnool of Andhra Pradesh today (September 18) to participate in several programmes and also to address a public meeting. Rahul Gandhi is expected to take up farmer’s issue and special status to Andhra Pradesh, while the Rafale deal and unemployment are the other issues that the Congress chief is likely to address. Telegu Desam Party (TDP) MP Jayadev Galla had mentioned these topics during the no-confidence motion against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Congress president will also visit the former Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjivayya at Pedapadu village, said Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in a statement on Sunday.

Rahul Gandhi will also interact with students in Byreddy convention centre and pay tributes to former CM K Vijay Bhaskar Reddy at Kisan Ghat apart from an interaction session with the farmers. 

APCC Spokesperson Kolanukonda Shivaji had earlier appealed to the people to make the meeting a huge success.

Rahul Gandhi’s expected schedule for the day:

  1. To visit the house of former CM Shri Damodaram Sanjivayya in Peddapadu village of Kurnool at 12:15 pm.To interact with students of BY Reddy Convention Centre of Kurnool district at at 1:00 pm.
  2. To pay tributes to former CM Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy at Kisan Ghat of Kurnool at 02:45 pm.
  3. To pay a visit to the house of former CM Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara reddy at 03:00 pm.
  4. To pay tributes at the statue of Late Sh. Jagjivan Ram at STBC College Ground of Kurnool at 03:45 pm.
  5. To attend a public meeting at STBC College Ground of Kurnool at 04:00 pm.
