Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is celebrating Diwali with all grandeur at the temple town of Ayodhya on Wednesday. The ‘Deepotsav’ witnessed 2 lakhs 'diyas' being lit up the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya.

The state government is also getting ready to make a new Guinness World Record by lighting record number of diyas on the banks of the Saryu River as a part of Diwali celebrations.

Prominent buildings and ghats have been illuminated to attract tourists. The objective of the entire programme is to promote Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, as a tourist destination.

A grand “aarti” of River Saryu will also be performed by Chief Minister Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik followed by a laser show.
