Man married a man and take the ‘saat-phere’ in Madhya Pradesh, facing scarcity of rain when major part of the country is under flood water, just to please the rain god.
According to a report in Times of India, residents of Musakhedi area of Indore witness two men dressed as bridegrooms and tied nuptial knots to each other in front of large crowd and relatives to appease the rain god — Indra.
According to people who witnessed the marriage said that the marriage was like any other Hindu marriage but a symbolic marriage to please the rain god.
They added, people participated in the baraat and danced to Bollywood numbers through the main roads of the locality prior the duo tied knots.

Sakaram Ahriwar and Rakesh Adjan marriage was solemnized according to Hindu traditions, while both the grooms’ wives witnessed the marriage.
According to the article, the guests of the wedding were stunned as the area witnessed heavy showers as the marriage functions started.
The daily english quoting the organiser of the marriage Ramesh Singh Tomar wrote, “There was no bride.”

The article further read that both Sakaram and Rakesh were grooms in this marriage.
“The tied the knot as a gesture to please the rain god,” said Tomar to the english daily.
Sakaram and Rakesh are daily wage labours who work for Tomar — a water supplier.
