New Delhi:

Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Friday said that 60,000 women in universities across the country would be trained by the National Commission for Women (NCW) under its Digital Literacy Programme to promote digital literacy and raise awareness about cyber crimes.

Maneka, replying to a question in Parliament on Friday, said the 60,000 women would be trained regarding safe use of internet, social media and email.

The NCW in collaboration with Facebook and Cyber Peace Foundation initiated a Digital Literacy Programme for college and university students to promote digital literacy, raise awareness about cyber crimes, advise users about the resources available to women and train women how to handle such crimes.
