New Delhi:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejirwal on Monday accused PM Narendra Modi of behaving like a Pakistani Prime Minister to subvert India's federal structure. Kejriwal was addressing at his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu's day-long fast against the BJP-led NDA government in the national capital. The TDP president is demanding that the Centre fulfil promises made during Andhra Pradesh's bifurcation in 2014 and alleges that Modi was not following 'raj dharma' by denying the state special status.

"A Prime Minister is Prime Minister of the nation, not of a party. The way he treats other political parties, it's like he is not the Prime Minister of India, but Prime Minister of Pakistan," Kejrwal was quoted as saying at the Andhra Bhavan, where Naidu is on fast.

Extending support to Naidu in his demand, the AAP leader further said, "It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and thousands of people from Andhra have to demonstrate here for special status for the state. This poses a big question on the country's federal structure".

"The PM at least thrice publicly declared he would give special status to Andhra. He is world famous for lying. Whatever he says, he never fulfills. Even (BJP chief) Amit Shah says that whatever they say is nothing but 'jumla' (fake promise)," the Delhi CM added.

In an apparent reference to the CBI's shutdown with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Kejriwal said, "I want to tell Modi that he is not the Prime Minister of his BJP alone but of the entire India. The way he treats state governments run by non-BJP parties looks as if he is the Prime Minister of Pakistan".

"Now he sent 40 CBI officers to arrest Kolkata's Police Commissioner to send a message to the police and bureaucracy in all states that they should not be loyal to state governments but to the Centre," he alleged.

Calling it a conspiracy, Kejriwal said, "Had he succeeded, the federal structure of the country would have collapsed. I salute Mamata didi for the way she drove out those 40 CBI officers".

Last but not the least, Kejriwal called upon the people to defeat the Modi-Shah pair in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019, adding that if Modi and Shah come back again, the nation won't survive.

Apart from Kejriwal, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, National Congress chairperson Farooq Abdullah, NCP's Majeed Memon, Trinamool Congress' Derek O' Brien, DMK's Tiruchi Siva and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav were among those who met the TDP chief to express their support.

All India Trinamool Congress president and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also extended her support to Naidu over his day-long hunger-strike against the Centre and is expected to reach the national capital on Tuesday.
