New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the fight against terrorism and radicalisation is not against any religion, but against a mindset that misguides the young minds during an event to promote Islamic Heritage.

PM Modi exerted on the strength of India’s heritage and diversity during the event “Islamic Heritage : Promoting Understanding and Moderation.”  Jordan King Abdullah II was also present during the event.

"Indian democracy is a celebration of age old plurality. All major religions in the world are cradled in India,” said PM Modi.

“We are celebrating festival of colour Holi, a few days back Buddhist New Year began. At the end of March, Good Friday and Budh Jayanti will be celebrated. Soon after holy month of Ramzan will start and soon Eid-ul-Fitr will remind us harmony,” added PM.

The PM Modi further added that this is example of India’s diversity.

“The youths should associate themselves with the humanitarian aspects of Islam and should also use modern technology,” added Modi.

He added, “Muslim youths should have Quran in one hand and a computer in other.”

King Abdullah II during the event said, “Attack in the name of religion is an attack on religion.”

“Its must to identify and reject those spreading hate in the name of religion,” he added.
