The health condition of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister N D Tiwari has worsened steadily over the past few weeks prompting doctors to conduct several tests on him on Tuesday, a release by the politician's office said.

Tiwari has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi for over nine months. The former chief minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh for four terms, also the first elected chief minister of Uttarakhand, was admitted at the Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket in the national capital on September 20 last year following a brain-stroke.

Doctors at the hospital did a chest X-Ray and other tests to determine the leader's condition over the past two-three weeks, the release by Tiwari's camp office in Delhi said.  The doctors spoke to Tiwari’s son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari on the phone to brief about his father's condition, it said.
